Why is a multi-function wedding hard to plan?

An Indian wedding is a run of events. Haldi in the morning, mehendi the evening before, a sangeet, the ceremony, the reception. Each has its own time and often its own venue, and each has its own guest list. A single date and address, the way a one-day wedding is planned, does not describe it.

The trouble shows up as questions. Where is the sangeet? Is my cousin invited to the haldi? What time should the in-laws arrive? Mangalyam is built to answer these without a thread of messages.

How do you set up the functions?

List every function of the wedding. Each one has:

  • a date and time
  • a venue
  • a map link to that venue

That is the schedule your guests need. Add the functions in the order they happen and the wedding reads as a timeline instead of a single blob.

How do guests see them?

Each guest party gets its own link, and it shows only the functions that party is invited to. A family invited to the ceremony and the reception sees those two, with their times, venues and map links. They do not see the haldi they were not invited to. See family invite links.

How do you share a venue location?

The venue and its map link are part of each function. Guests open the link and tap through to the map, so you are not sending the same address repeatedly in a chat.

How do you coordinate a two-day wedding?

Put the functions of both days in the list, in order, with their times and venues. Then invite each guest to the functions they will attend. The RSVP view shows who is coming to each function, with head counts, so you can plan numbers for each day separately.

What helps most with a long wedding?

Decide the order of functions first, then the venues. Once each function has its date, time and venue in the list, the guest list and the RSVP counts can be built on top, and you stop answering the same scheduling question separately for each family.

What does it cost?

Mangalyam is free for couples; it earns from the wedding professionals couples book.

How do you start?

Create your account and add your functions. Then add your guests and invite them to the functions they are part of. The RSVP flow and the wedding website build on the same list.
