Most Indian weddings run five or six functions over several days: Mehendi, Sangeet, the ceremony, the Reception and more. Mangalyam treats each one as its own event, so guests, budget and details line up per function instead of sitting in one long list.
Add your events
- Go to the Events page in your dashboard.
- Click "Add Event".
- Pick a type from the Event Type dropdown: Engagement / Nischayam, Mehendi / Mehndi, Haldi / Pithi / Gaye Holud, Sangeet / Garba / Nalangu, Baraat / Jaan, Wedding Ceremony, Sadya, Reception / Walima / Bou Bhat, Roce Ceremony, or Custom Event.
- Add a custom name if you want something other than the type to show on your guest site, for example "The Big Fat Mehendi".
- Set the date, expected guest count and venue using the location search.
There's no template that creates every function at once. You add each one from the dropdown, which takes under a minute per event.
Assign guests per event
Not everyone on your list is invited to everything. Open a guest on the Guests page and tag the events they're invited to. Each event gets its own count, so your aunt can come alone to the Haldi and bring her family to the Reception.
See real numbers per event
Each event card shows an "Expected" figure worked out from the guests actually assigned to it, next to the target you set when you created the event. When you add a manual expense on the Money page, you can link it to an event so its cost shows against that function.
Your guest site, RSVP links, vendor run sheets and calendar invites all build from this list, so keep dates and venues current as they're confirmed.
